Adding a connection in PowerExcel

- Launch Excel and select the “PowerExcel” tab from the Navigation Ribbon at the top of your screen
- From the PowerExcel panel, click on the “Connections” icon from the PowerExcel Connections Section within the navigation ribbon.
- In the Connections menu that appears on your screen, click “New” to create a new connection.
- Type the Name that you wish the connection to be called.
- Then in the URL window type http:\\localhost:4387 for a locally loaded Database or http:\\ then the IP address of the server where the Database is located then :4387. If the IP was 123.45.67.98 it would look like this http:\\123.45.67.89:4387
- From the dropdown “Database” menu, select your database name and click “OK”.
- You have successfully created a PowerExcel Connection and can now proceed to create a slice.
