When installing or using PowerExcel and OLATION, certain network ports must be opened on your server or workstation firewall to ensure proper communication between components. This article outlines the default ports and their purpose.

OLATION Studio9689Used by OLATION Studio to communicate with the OLATION server when the Studio is installed on a user’s local workstation.


Firewall Access:
Ensure these ports (4387, 9689) are open for inbound on the OLATION server.

If OLATION Server and OLATION Web Service are installed on different machines:

  • On the OLATION Web Service: Allow inbound TCP traffic on port 4387 for the PowerExcel web service.
  • On the OLATION Server: Allow inbound TCP traffic on port 9689 for OLATION Studio connections.
